Police: Woman Shot Outside South Mpls. School
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A woman is in the hospital after someone shot her outside a Somali Independence Day basketball game in Minneapolis Sunday.
It happened just before 9 p.m. at Roosevelt High School in South Minneapolis, just west of Hiawatha.
Two off-duty Minneapolis police officers heard the shots fired and immediately went to the scene and found an adult female with at least one gunshot wound on the east side of the school.
The woman was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center with injuries considered non-life threatening.
July 1st is the day Somalis celebrate their nation's independence.
No arrests have been made and police continue to investigate.
