Police: Woman Arrested After Crashing Into St. Cloud Apartment
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – An 18-year-old woman was arrested Sunday night for apparently crashing her vehicle into an apartment complex in St. Cloud and fleeing the scene, according to police.
St. Cloud Police were called to the 1400 block of 12th Avenue North on a report that a car had crashed into an apartment complex at about 8:54 p.m. When authorities arrived, a woman had taken a corner too fast, lost control of her vehicle and struck an exterior wall of the building.
The woman, later identified by authorities as Violet Faye Hopkins, fled the scene but was later located during the investigation. Nobody was hurt in the crash, but the American Red Cross has provided shelter for up to six families that were removed from the complex for safety concerns.
Hopkins was cited for reckless driving, hit and run accident and not having a valid driver's license before being released. The incident is still under investigation.
