Police: Thieves Slash 2 Women During Robbery In Eden Prairie
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (WCCO) -- Two women were slashed with a knife during a robbery incident in Eden Prairie Sunday night, according to Eden Prairie Police.
Authorities says officers were dispatched to Anderson Lakes Parkway near Neill Lake Road on report of a robbery. When they arrived at the scene, police say they found the victims -- two adult women.
The victims told officers they were walking along the north side of the parkway trail when two men approached, demanding money. As the suspects stole the purse of one victim, the other tried to intervene, and both subsequently received injuries consistent with the use of a knife, police say.
Authorities mobilized a search unit after the incident, including a K-9 unit from the Eden Prairie Police Department and a helicopter from the Minnesota State Patrol, but they were unable to find the suspects.
Both victims were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment.
Investigators are asking anyone with information on the incident or the suspects to call the Eden Prairie Police Department immediately at 952-949-6200.
