Police: Suspicious Man Seen Near Where NDSU Student's Body Found
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities are investigating after a suspicious man was spotted Tuesday night in Moorhead near the area where the body of a North Dakota State University student was found about three weeks ago.
Moorhead Police were called to Larry's RV Sales in south Moorhead at about 6:30 p.m. on a report of a suspicious man. When officers arrived, an employee there told police that they had made contact with the man that was "just looking" while he was walking around the property. The employee said the man was acting suspiciously, noting that the body of Thomas Bearson was found on the property three weeks ago. Bearson was killed after leaving a house party in late September.
Despite a thorough search, police were not able to locate the suspicious man. The man was described as about 20 years old with a thin build. He was wearing a black baseball-style cap with green writing, a gray T-shirt and blue jeans.
Police said it is not known who the man is or what he was looking for, but it is not believed that he committed any crimes on the property. Authorities said at this point, it doesn't appear the suspicious activity has a connection to Bearson's homicide but it is still under investigation. Police are still looking for a suspect and the case remains under investigation.
