Police: St. Paul Schools Lockdown After Report Of Shots Fired
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Two schools in St. Paul went on lockdown Monday afternoon after shots rang out, authorities said.
Sgt. Paul Paulos said authorities got a report of shots fired near an apartment complex at the intersection of Wood Street East and South Robert Street around 1 p.m.
The schools – Humboldt High School and Cherokee Heights Elementary -- were not in the immediate area where shots were reported, but Paulos said someone was seen running in the direction of the schools.
The schools were only on lockdown for a short while, authorities said.
The suspect in the alleged shooting has not been found, despite the efforts of police dogs.
No one was injured, and Paulos said it's possible shots may not have been fired at all.
