Police: St. Cloud Man, 53, Arrested In Hammer Attack
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 53-year-old St. Cloud man is in jail accused of striking a man multiple times with a hammer, according to police.
St. Cloud Police say Michael John Boyland was arrested late Wednesday night after an incident inside an apartment in the 10 block of 4th Avenue North.
The victim, a 24-year-old St. Cloud man, suffered injuries to the head after Boyland allegedly struck him several times with the hammer. He was treated for non-life threatening lacerations at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Boyland was also treated for injuries sustained during the incident and is now being held at the Stearns County Jail.
Boyland faces charges of second-degree assault. The victim could face charges of fifth-degree assault, pending a case by the attorney's office.
