Police Seek Suspect In Burglary From Assisted Living Center
MAPLEWOOD, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities are asking for help to identify a burglary suspect scene in surveillance video taking a countertop safe from a Maplewood assisted living center earlier this month.
Police said a man was spotted stealing the safe at about 2 a.m. on Nov. 2 at Homestead of Maplewood on the 1800 block of Sheridan Avenue. Authorities said the safe contained a variety of keys that secured room doors and storage cabinets. The assisted living center is a secured facility, but police said a resident inadvertently let the suspect in.
Police said the suspect is described as a white man, 25 to 35 years old with a medium build. At the time of the burglary he was wearing a dark-colored jacket with a lighter-colored line circling the coat.
Authorities said the safe was secured to the countertop that it was on, but the man was able to pry it loose. Anyone who can identify the man or has information about the incident is asked to call Maplewood Police at (651) 249-2600.
