Police Say Couple Forced Girl To Run In Diaper
FRIDLEY, Minn. (WCCO/AP) -- A Fridley woman and her boyfriend have been arrested after neighbors reported they forced a 12-year-old girl to run up and down the street in a diaper.
Police say they arrived Monday night to find the girl, who is the daughter of the 38-year-old woman, running in nothing but a tank top and diaper in front of a crowd of more than 50 people. The couple is also accused of shaving the girl's head.
Officers say the girl was outside for about a half an hour before a neighbor alerted police. They say the girl was crying and hysterical.
The mother and her 34-year-old boyfriend were arrested on suspicion of malicious punishment of a child. According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the couple told police they were punishing the girl for having bad grades and failing to do her homework.
