Police Release Sketch Of Riverside Sex Assault Suspect
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis Police have released a sketch they hope leads to an arrest over a sexual assault reported last week.
Police say a student from St. Catherine's was assaulted while walking along a path in Minneapolis's Riverside Park at around 6:30 a.m. on Nov. 19
A 5 foot, 5 inch-tall black male between about 35 and 40 years old pulled out a weapon and forced the woman into a heavily wooded area of the park and sexually assaulted her.
The female victim, a St. Catherine student, fled on foot and was treated at a nearby hospital. Her screams were heard by several other people who came to her aid while waiting for police.
She told police that the man had a scruffy beard. She said he was also was wearing a navy blue jacket that zipped up.
Earlier that morning, there was also an assault reported on the 1800 block of Stevens Avenue South, along Stevens Square.
Anybody who recognizes the individual depicted in the police sketch is asked to contact police at 612-673-2358.
Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information in the case.
