Police: Red Wing Jogger Falls Off 200-Foot Cliff, Dies
RED WING, Minn. (WCCO) -- Red Wing police are investigating after a man died Wednesday night, presumably falling off a 200-foot rock wall at the top of barns bluff.
Witnesses were performing CPR on the man at about 8:50 p.m. Wednesday. But he was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities before being transported to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
The man had been seeing jogging on the top of barns bluff about 20 minutes earlier, witnesses said, and had asked for directions off of the bluff.
Witnesses were leaving the bluff on the north side of the trail when they said they came across the unresponsive male lying on the path at the bottom of the 200-foot tall rock wall.
The victim's name has been withheld pending family notification.
