Authorities ID 2 Killed In Crash That Followed Police Pursuit
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities have identified the two people killed in a crash that occurred after a police pursuit in Burnsville Monday.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the driver of the fleeing vehicle as 22-year-old Matthew John Vogel. The cause of his death is still being investigated.
Aida Leticia Sevilla Ocampo, 39, was identified as the woman killed when Vogel's vehicle struck hers. The cause of her death was multiple blunt force injuries, the Medical Examiner said.
Vogel fled the scene of a hit-and-run in Savage Monday night. Police pursued him to Burnsville, where he struck Ocampo's vehicle at County Highway 5 and 131st Street.
Ocampo was killed instantly. Vogel tore down power lines which lit him on fire.
The crash is still under investigation.
