Police did not identify the suspect.
Officers say they are looking into the possibility the suspect was involved in two other assaults prior to the shooting incident -- one at 49th and Flag in New Hope and another at a SuperAmerica in Crystal.
The officer involved in the shooting has been placed on paid administrative leave, which is standard procedure for incidents such as this.
