Police: Man Killed Ex, Self In Western Minnesota
ALEXANDRIA, Minn. (AP) — Police believe a 51-year-old man killed his former girlfriend before committing suicide in western Minnesota last week.
The Douglas County sheriff's office says David Everett of rural Osakis and 38-year-old Sharon Love were breaking up. Everett had moved out but was scheduled to meet Love in the Alexandria apartment they had shared to retrieve some of his things.
During the meeting Love was attacked and killed in her apartment. Everett was seen driving away in her car Wednesday evening. Investigators on Friday found his body in the victim's car in a rented garage near Osakis.
Investigators say Everett had committed suicide in the garage. The sheriff's office did not say how the two died.
Authorities believe the deaths are a murder-suicide and say apparently no one else was involved.
