Police: Man Crashes Into Burnsville House After Chase
BURNSVILLVE, Minn. (WCCO) -- Burnsville police are investigating Friday after they arrested a man, who, after trying to rob a house, fled the scene of the robbery in a SUV and crashed it into a house that hosted a private day care service.
Around noon, the suspect had attempted to rob a house located on the 1400 block of E. McAndrews Road, but when he was interrupted by a resident of the house, he fled the scene, police said. Before fleeing, however, the suspect pointed a gun at the resident, who was calling police.
After the suspect fled, the resident then got into a car and chased the suspect, police said. The suspect then crashed his SUV into a day care home near the intersection of 134th Street and Burncrest Court. The suspect tried to run off, but was apprehended by police a short time after.
No one in the day care house was hurt. The children and the day care provider were moved to a nearby school.
Police will continue to investigate.
