Police Looking For Suspects In Minneapolis Carjacking
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police are looking for up to three suspects in connection with a recent carjacking in Minneapolis.
Authorities say the incident happened at around 1 p.m. on Aug. 25 on the 5600 block of Lyndale Avenue South. Police were called to the area on a report of an assault. When authorities arrived, they learned three women were at motel in the area and were angry with employees.
Police say the suspects threw a coffee pot and other items at employees, causing them minor injuries.
A few minutes later. Police got a 911 call that a vehicle just around the corner from the motel had been taken by force. Authorities say a 60-year-old woman was accosted by three women as she got out of her car. One of the suspects demanded the woman's keys and when the victim tried to run away, one of the suspects chased her down and assaulted her with a high heel.
The victim gave the suspect her keys, and the three women drove away. The victim suffered lacerations to her head, police say. The victim's vehicle was recovered the next morning in downtown Minneapolis.
Police said the suspect who assault the victim is described as a black female 20 to 25 years old, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall with a medium build. Her hair was pulled back and she was wearing a teal blue pullover shirt that showed her midriff and jeans capri pants.
A second suspect is a black female in her mid-20s about 5 feet, 3 inches tall with a stocky build and wearing a white shirt with a bright print and dark pants. The third suspect is a black female in her mid-20s about 5 feet, 3 inches to 5 feet, 5 inches tall who was wearing a black spaghetti-strap top and faded blue shorts.
