Police Looking For Suspect In Vandalism Of Maple Grove High School
MAPLE GROVE, Minn. (WCCO) – Police are looking for a suspect after vandalism was reported at Maple Grove High School early Thursday morning.
The incident happened at about 3:07 a.m. at the school, located on the 9800 block of Fernbrook Lane in Maple Grove. Police responded to a report of criminal damage to property in the area after school staff found the suspects vandalizing the school with spray paint and cans of paint. The suspects immediately fled the area on foot.
Police said the suspects threw paint and spray painted on the walls near the front entrance of the school and on the walls that are south of the front entrance. The suspects had spray painted the words "Seniors" and "LGW" on the south side of the school and "12" on the west and south sides of the building.
Police said they tracked the suspects into a wooded area east of the school, but no arrests were made. The Hennepin County Sheriff's Crime Lab was also called into assist at the scene.
Authorities are still looking for the people responsible for the vandalism. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Maple Grove Police at (763) 494-6199.
