Police Investigating 2 Late-Night Robberies Near St. Cloud State Campus
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police are investigating two early, Saturday morning robberies near the St. Cloud State University campus that occurred within hours of each other, just five blocks apart.
First, a 20-year-old man reported being robbed by two men near the intersection of 7th Avenue and 8th Street South at around 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning. The victim told police that one of the suspects threatened him with a weapon, while the other claimed to have a weapon, though it wasn't visible. Police say the victim didn't sustain any injuries.
Then at around 3:45 a.m. the same night, two 21-year-old men reported being assaulted and robbed on the 300 block of 7th Avenue South, just five blocks north of the first incident. The victims told police several men attacked them both, and one victim reported property stolen.
The St. Cloud Campus Area Police Services (CAPS) unit is investigating both incidents. Anyone with information on the incidents is urged to call the St. Cloud Police Department at 320-255-1301 or 1-800-255-1301.
