Police Investigate Shooting Death In Mankato
MANKATO, Minn. (WCCO) -- Police will hold a news conference Friday about a deadly shooting that happened in Mankato Thursday.
Officers responded to a scene around 9:30 p.m. after they got a call about a man who wouldn't put his gun down. Police said the man was suicidal.
Police said they asked him repeatedly to drop the weapon, but he wouldn't. Shots were fired and the man died. It's not clear yet if he was struck by a bullet from his own gun or from an officer's gun.
It happened on the 600 block of Byron St.
The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is also investigating the shooting.
