Police: Gang Members Responsible For String Of Burglaries
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Prior Lake Police have linked a string of burglaries that happened November to a well-known St. Paul gang.
According to Detective Chris Olson, Prior Lake and other cities around the metro had similar burglaries that happened in the same time frame. Officers compared notes and executed search warrants at the homes of some of the gang members.
During those searches, police found an automatic weapon that was stolen back in November from a federal officer's unmarked vehicle.
They also found ammunition and the agent's vest which was also stolen with the gun.
Officers also recovered three other guns and many other stolen items, including stuff reported missing from the homes in Prior Lake.
Police said they now have six people in custody and charges are pending for two or three more people. All six people in custody are members of the gang.
Other police departments are looking at charging other suspects, too.
