Police: Father Assaulted 3-Month-Old Child
BEMIDJI, Minn. (WCCO) -- Police arrested a Bemidji, Minn. man they say assaulted his 3-month-old daughter last week.
According to authorities, 28-year-old Roger Darrin Warner was taken into custody just after 1 p.m. Monday.
Investigators say Warner's daughter is currently in a trauma unit at a Fargo-area hospital nearly a week after the suspected incident, which was reported to the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension on Jan. 2.
Police said the child's mother brought the baby to Sanford Hospital with serious injuries. The infant was then flown to Fargo.
Police believe Warner perpetrated the assault on the child, and say criminal charges are pending.
