Police: Duluth Inmate Found After Escape
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities found an inmate Wednesday evening after the 41-year-old man escaped a facility in downtown Duluth he and other inmates were touring.
Daniel James Daly, of Duluth, escaped from the Arrowhead House, a private organization that has programs for mentally ill and chemically dependent adults, shortly after noon, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office said. Authorities were not immediately able to find him.
An investigation eventually led authorities to Daly's whereabouts. After a "high risk" traffic stop on Duluth's Lake Avenue and Superior Street, officers arrested Daly at around 5:45 p.m. He was a passenger in the stopped car, and was arrested without incident.
Officers brought Daly to the St. Louis County Jail. He faces a charge of escaping from custody.
He had been serving time, according to Northland's NewsCenter, for drug possession, domestic assault and violating a protection order.
