Police: Driver In Mpls. Protest Incident A Suspect, Not Victim
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis police say they have talked with the driver who allegedly drove through a crowd of protesters in south Minneapolis and are now listing him as a suspect in the incident, not a victim.
On Tuesday at 4:35 p.m., police were assisting with a demonstration on East Lake Street and Minnehaha Avenue South when a vehicle drove through the crowd and injured at least one person.
Police say they have completed a number of interviews related to the incident. One of the interviewees was the driver of the vehicle. He was released pending an upcoming review by the Hennepin County Attorney's Office.
The case will not be forwarded to the attorney's office until all reports, interviews and physical evidence has been documented and examined.
