Police: Chaska Man Shoots Himself In Drunken Slumber
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Chaska man shot his left index finger in a drunken slumber, according to Chaska Police.
Chief Scott Knight says the man fell asleep with a loaded handgun in his bed last month before a bad dream caused him to awake and accidentally shoot his left trigger finger.
A family member drove the man to the hospital, where he reportedly recorded a blood-alcohol content of .27.
While police said it is "unwise" to sleep with a loaded gun while intoxicated, the man broke no laws as he has a permit to carry.
He's expected to make a full recovery.
