Police Chase Ends With Car Plunging Into Lake Harriet
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said nobody was injured after a police chase ended with a stolen vehicle plunging into Lake Harriet early Tuesday morning.
Police said the incident start in Bloomington at about 2 a.m. near the area of 81st Avenue and 3rd Street after authorities received a report of a stolen car. The suspect fled, and the pursuit ended on the south side of Lake Harriet near Penn Avenue and Lake Harriet Parkway.
Police said the car flew into the lake and upside down in the water. Authorities were able to get the suspect out of the water. The suspect was taken away from the scene in a stretcher, but did not suffer serious injuries. It's unclear of the driver will face charges.
What led up to the chase is still under investigation.
