Police Chase Ends On Hazeltine Golf Course
CHASKA, Minn. (WCCO) -- A suspected drunken driver led police on a chase that ended on the greens at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minn.
Police said the chase began on Highway 41 near Highway 5 in Chanhassen just after midnight after officers attempted to pull the driver over.
The driver gave chase, at one point even turning off his lights in an apparent attempt to evade officers.
He smashed through the security gate at Hazeltine and drove across the driving range and putting green. Authorities said both the car as well as the golf course sustained significant damage.
The driver fled his vehicle and ran across the course. A State Patrol helicopter spotted the driver hiding underneath a pine tree on the course.
