Police: Cab Driver Robbed, Put In Trunk In Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police are investigating and looking for a suspect after a cab driver was apparently robbed and locked in the trunk of his vehicle Monday morning in Minneapolis.
Authorities say the incident happened just before 6 a.m. Monday on the 2900 block of Hennepin Avenue in the Uptown area of Minneapolis. Police said the cab driver, who works for Rainbow Taxi, told them a man implied he had a gun and robbed him before forcing him into the truck of the cab.
The cab driver did not know how much money the suspect had taken from him. Police said they are looking for the suspect, who is a black man. It's not clear whether the suspect was in the cab before robbing the driver or approached the vehicle.
The incident is still under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to call Minneapolis Police.
