Police Arrest Suspect In Mankato Murder
MANKATO, Minn. (WCCO) – Mankato Police arrested a suspect Saturday in the murder of a 19-year-old woman from Henderson.
Damone Christopher Williams-Tillman, 19 of Golden Valley, was arrested Friday night on suspicion of second-degree intentional murder and transported to the Blue Earth County Jail, where he awaits criminal charges.
Josselyn Bishop, a 19-year-old woman from Henderson who was a student at Minnesota State University-Mankato, was found dead Friday afternoon in a commercial district of Mankato. Authorities said she had suffered multiple stab wounds. Due to the high-traffic level in the area, police said her body likely was there for only a few hours before a work crew found her.
She had no identification on her, so police had few leads until her roommate called police concerned after Bishop did not show up for work.
That conversion eventually led to Tillman's arrest in Golden Valley Friday night.
Police believe the two had a previous relationship, but it's not clear at this time what exactly the extent of the relationship was.
Tillman is expected to be charged with murder next week.
