Police: Arrest Made In North Minneapolis Homicide
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minneapolis Police say they have arrested a man in connection to the Friday afternoon shooting homicide in north Minneapolis.
Richard Antwon Mayes-Lindsay, 22, is currently being held at the Hennepin County Jail for probable cause murder.
Authorities said that at 5:30 p.m., a patrol sergeant was in the area of 29th Avenue North and North 4th Street when he saw a "disturbance involving several people" on the 200 block of 29th Avenue North. As he was turning around to investigate, he heard the sound of gunshots.
When the sergeant arrived at the scene, he found an adult man who had been shot. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The victim's identity and his cause of death will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.
