Police: Arrest Made In Brooklyn Center Murder
BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. (WCCO) – Brooklyn Center Police have made an arrest in the murder of a man found dead in his home on Girard Avenue back in February.
Authorities said charges are expected to be filed against the suspect on Wednesday. Authorities aren't releasing the name of the suspect until the criminal complaint is filed, which is expected by noon Wednesday.
The incident happened at about 8 p.m. on Feb. 12. Officers responded to a residence on the 5400 block of Girard Avenue after an individual wanted to check on the welfare of a co-worker. It was then that authorities discovered the body of 41-year-old Bret Lavurn Struck inside the home. Police said he was shot and that it was not a random act.
Neighbors heard popping noises coming from the house that night, but there were no calls to police apparently because most did not believe the noise was gunfire.
Police will hold a news conference at about 3 p.m. Wednesday to name the suspect and unveil criminal charges.
