Police: Alcohol Suspected In Head-On Crash
FRIDLEY, Minn. (WCCO) -- Parts of University Avenue in Fridley were closed Friday morning because of a head-on collision police say may have involved alcohol.
Police say a car heading south in the northbound lanes hit another car directly near the intersection with 57th Street.
Crews had to cut one of the drivers out of their car.
University was closed for a short-time while the crash was investigated. Police said they are looking into the possibility that alcohol was to blame for the crash.
Both drivers were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center. They are expected to survive.
