Police: 2 Women Stole Purses, Friend Sold Them On Facebook
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Two Twin Cities women are accused of stealing several Coach purses from retail stores, then having a friend offer them up for sale on the social media site Facebook, according to court documents filed Friday in Hennepin County Court.
Crystal Marie Jackson, 26, and April Banks, 33, were each allegedly connected to the incidents. According to court documents, the two entered the Herberger's store in Bloomington on Nov. 29, 2011, and stole 12 Coach purses valued at more than $2,200. The incident was reported by management on Jan. 20, 2012.
Later that same day, the two are accused of entering the Herberger's store in Rochester and stealing 16 Coach purses valued at more than $4,200. Larondra Banks, Jackson's friend, is also believed to be involved in the case after she posted 20-30 photos of Coach purses on her Facebook paged and was selling them for $150, according to court documents.
Jackson told police she is no longer friends with Larondra Banks because she didn't want to be involved in the sale of stolen merchandise.
Authorities are still considering criminal charges in the case involving all three individuals. The case remains under investigation.
