Police: 2 Stabbed At Minnesota State Fair
ST. PAUL (WCCO) -- Two people are in the hospital after being stabbed at the Minnesota State Fair Sunday evening, according to police.
The double stabbing occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. near the arcade on Dan Patch Avenue and Cooper Street inside the fairgrounds.
"I didn't hear any fighting. All of a sudden, there was a bunch of sirens with cops pushing people away," said witness Isaac Peter.
The adult male victims were treated at the scene by St. Paul Fire crews and were taken to Regions Hospital with non-life threatening stab wounds.
Witnesses say they sat on benches and tried to act as if nothing was going on.
"At first they were acting like nothing happened and then the cops like pulled up his shirt, they forced him to, and with the other guy same thing. He was just sitting there and the cops walked up to him and saw the blood on his legs and like pulled up his shirt and they started cutting his pants, too," said witness Michaela McCann.
Police say that this is not a random stabbing. There have been no arrests, but police say the public is safe.
Investigators are aggressively looking into all leads.
Two areas near the arcade are now closed off.
For many, this was not what they are used to seeing at the great Minnesota Get-Together.
