Police: 2 Hurt In Eagan Shooting, Suspect At Large
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities say two people were hurt Monday night, one critically, in a shooting in the south Twin Cities metro.
Eagan Police were called to the 3800 block of Ballantrae Road at about 6:34 p.m. on a report of several gunshots fired. When officers arrived, multiple witnesses reported hearing an argument that was followed by gun fire, and at least one vehicle fled the scene.
A resident in the area told police that a man knocked on his door and told him that he had been shot. The man fled the scene before authorities arrived. While responding to the scene, authorities learned two people had been taken to Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville with gunshot wounds.
Police said from an investigation, it appears two men picked up an acquaintance in their vehicle near the area of Ballantrae and Silver Bell Roads in Eagan. An argument ensued, and gunshots were fired inside the car. A 23-year-old man driving the car was shot in the chest and shoulder and is at Hennepin County Medical Center in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
A 21-year-old passenger was shot in the arm and is in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say no arrests have been made, but they believe the incident was not random and the general public is not at risk.
The incident is under investigation.
