Police: 2 Found Shot To Death In South Minneapolis Home
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two people are dead Friday night after a shooting in a house in south Minneapolis.
The suspected shooter is in custody.
It happened around 5:15 p.m.
"I heard bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang" neighbor Ira Mishow said.
The sounds brought out crowds as police moved into the home on the 2200 block of South 10th Avenue.
"When I turn around, you could see the smoke from the gunfire going up in the air," Mishow said.
Mishow knew the man that lived inside with his wife and two children. He says the man was spotted in a squad car soon after shots were fired.
Neighbors say his young son was also brought out of the house unharmed -- leaving Mishow fearing for the worst for a mother and her daughter.
"They didn't come out," he said.
Minneapolis police say two people who lived in the home were dead when they arrived, the victims of gunshots.
Police are also saying that two people were found unharmed in the residence and both have been taken into custody, one is a suspect and one is in protection.
"There's a lot of people effected by it," Minneapolis Police Spokesman John Elder said. "Whether they're sitting answering the 911 calls or being the first responders or the people who come in afterward."
"With the stresses of life now, you don't ever know what's going on behind closed doors," neighbor Darrin Vaughn said.
Those that knew the man who lived here call him a caring parent, a hard-worker always keeping up his yard and always happy.
"He was an all-around good guy," Mishow said. "For this to happen is a big shock."
