Police: 2 Arrested In New Richmond (Wis.) Armed Robbery
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two suspects – one a juvenile – have been arrested in a New Richmond, Wisconsin armed robbery Wednesday evening, according to police.
At 7:35 p.m., New Richmond police officers were notified about an armed robbery that occurred at Monette Apartments, located on the 600 block on Monette Avenue. A 19-year-old victim reported he was held up at gun-point by two suspects inside his car.
Upon arrival, police were able to locate two male suspects, which have been identified as 24-year-old Jonathan Stephens of St. Paul and a 16-year-old New Richmond boy. Both admitted to the crime and it was determined that they both took an undetermined amount of money and K2 (synthetic marijuana) from the victim, police said.
Stephens was arrested on charges of armed robbery, contributing to delinquency, possession of K2 and recklessly endangering safety. He is currently being held at St. Croix County Jail.
The juvenile male was arrested on a charge of armed robbery and taken to a secure juvenile detention center, police said.
Officers also requested that the victim, identified as Brandon Sellers, be charged with possession of K2 with intent to deliver. He was not taken into custody.
Officers also recovered both handguns, which were determined to be BB handguns.
