Police: 1 Dead, No Arrests In Minneapolis Stabbing
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said one person has died after an early-morning stabbing on the south side of Minneapolis.
Police responded to the incident at about 3 :06 a.m. near the area of East Lake Street and 5th Avenue South. When authorities arrived, a woman had been stabbed and was lying in the street. She was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, where she later died.
Authorities blocked off several streets in the area to interview witnesses and attempt to figure out what led up to the incident. Police said it appears that the victim and a female suspect had an altercation that turned physical, leading up to the stabbing. The victim then fled the area.
Police said no arrests have been made, but it doesn't appear to be a random incident and they're looking for a suspect. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Minneapolis Police at (612) 292-8477.
Authorities have not released the name of the victim.
