Police: 1 Dead, 1 Hurt In Mounds View Stabbing
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police are investigating after one person was found dead and another was hurt in a stabbing in the north Twin Cities metro Thursday night.
Mounds View Police were called to an apartment on the 7700 block of Silver Lake Road at about 8:45 p.m. Thursday on a report of a stabbing. When authorities arrived, a 51-year-old man was found hurt outside the residence and was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
While still at the scene, police found a second male victim dead in a third floor hallway of the apartment. Police said they don't have any suspects in custody, but they did interview witnesses and tenants at the scene. The victim was identified Friday morning as 49-year-old Perry Paulson, a resident at the apartment complex.
Authorities brought in a ladder to get some residents out from a balcony near the crime scene.
"Those tenants in an apartment complex were nearby where the deceased victim was located and rather than have them exit their apartment through the doorway, we had them brought out through the balcony to have them not contaminate the area," said Mounds View Police Chief Tom Kinney.
Anyone with information is asked to call Mounds View Police. They're investigating with assistance from the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office. Authorities said they believe it's an isolated incident and that there is no risk to the general public.
