Pine Co. Schools On Lockdown After Teen Runs From Home With Weapons
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Pine County Schools escalated their security measures Monday after a 15-year-old student reportedly ran away from his home with guns Friday. The boy has since been found.
The father of the teenage boy reported to the Pine County Sheriff's Office that his boy had run away and was believed to have taken a hunting rifle, shotgun and ammunition with him when he left. He's a student of the Pine City school district.
Pine County Schools were then notified and are currently open, but escalated their security posture with locking down access control to the schools. Extra patrols were also in the areas around the schools.
Later Monday afternoon, the Sheriff's Office said the runaway juvenile was located in Chisago County and is in custody. The weapons were also recovered.
