Patrol: Teen Dies After Collision With School Bus
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The State Patrol says a teenager died Wednesday afternoon when she lost control of her car on a Mower County road and collided head-on with a school bus.
Sixteen-year-old Tess Landherr of Rose Creek, Minn., died in the crash. She was driving a 2003 Buick Century north on Highway 56 at around 3:20 p.m. when she lost control due to weather and road conditions and slammed with the bus, which was traveling south.
At least one of the children on the bus, 8-year-old Rachel Heller, suffered a minor injury, according to the State Patrol.
The condition of the bus driver, 41-year-old Kim Bissen, was not documented. Moreover, information on another person involved in the collision will be released Thursday.
The Mower County Sheriff's Office is assisting with the investigation.
