Parts Of St. Croix State Park Reopening Monday
ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – Several areas of St. Croix State Park will reopen on Monday after they were significantly damaged from the July 1 storm swept through the area, officials with the Minnesota DNR announced Friday.
Day-use areas, the equestrian campground and two modern guest houses on Norway Point will be back open on Monday. The DNR also said the Riverview and Paint Rock Springs campgrounds are on pace to be open again on Sept. 30.
The St. Croix State Park has been closed since July 1. A wind storm that blew through the area damaged 7,500 of the park's 34,000 acres and 74 of the 197 buildings on site. It is located about 90 minutes northeast of the Twin Cities, about 15 miles east of Hinckley.
