Parts Of Minn., Wis. Could See 8-10 Inches Of Snow
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO/AP) — Residents across parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin are bracing for a snowstorm that could dump as much as 10 inches of snow in some areas.
The National Weather Service says a storm front was moving east from the Dakotas late Saturday. Parts of southeast Minnesota could get 2 to 4 inches overnight, the Twin Cities could see 5 to 7 inches, and areas further north may see 6 to 8 inches.
WCCO meteorologist Lauren Casey says the high moisture content in the atmosphere could translate to heavy snowfall.
"When these temperatures are elevated up near the freezing mark, we have the potential to see those bigger snowflakes," Casey said.
The system is expected to pass through Minnesota overnight into Wisconsin. The weather service predicts 6 to 10 inches will fall in northwest Wisconsin on Sunday, with 6 to 7 inches in the north-central part of the state.
The Green Bay area could get about 3 inches, including snowfall during the Green Bay Packers-Detroit Lions game in the evening.
