Overnight Fire Engulfs House In Medina

MEDINA, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities in Medina are spending Saturday morning investigating how a house fire that caused significant damage may have started.

Fire officials responded to a report of a house fire at about 3 a.m. on the 100 block of Meadowview Lane in Medina. When they arrived, homeowners said they saw fire coming from the back of their home. Two adults, two children and the family dog were able to get out safely, according to Hamel Fire Chief Brandon Guest.

Two homes nearby were also evacuated as a precaution. Fire officials said they don't know the cause of the fire yet, but do not believe it is suspicious. Several fire departments provided assistance at the scene, including Plymouth, Hamel, Loretto, Maple Plain and Buffalo.
