Organic Food And Farming Leader To Speak At 'U'
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A national leader in the organic food and farming movement will speak at the University of Minnesota about water and the challenges facing agriculture.
Fred Kirschenmann is a distinguished fellow at Iowa State University's Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture. He'll speak at 7 p.m. Thursday in the St. Paul campus Student Center theater.
Kirschenmann says a series of crises means serious changes must be made in how America and the world grow food. He says tomorrow's agriculture has to mimic nature to become more resilient and largely self-renewing.
