Orchestra Hall Holds Benefit Concert For Prince
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A benefit concert for the late singer Prince was held Sunday night at Orchestra Hall, benefiting the organizations that he cared about.
Sheila E. and friends came together to honor Prince. The concert is a fundraiser that provides for the local organizations that Prince supported, so they can keep doing great work in the community.
Sunday night's show featured performances by Sheila E. and her father, Pete Escovedo. It also included performances from youth and musicians in the Twin Cities.
Earlier Sunday, an art fair was held at Orchestra Hall for Prince. The Purple Philanthropy Music and Arts Fair showcases stories of love inspired by the late singer.
The event raised money for the organizations that support youth in music and arts.
"This is just the beginning, a foundation of something that we hope people continue to put on every year raising money for purple philanthropy, so we can give back to the foundations that he has supported over the years," Sheila E. said.
A silent auction had donated art and three refurbished pianos donated by Well Piano in St. Paul. Twins Cities Mobile Jazz showcased talent from music programs around the metro.
