Open Casting Call For Sixth Season Of 'Great Norway Adventure'
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Do you have a little Norwegian blood in your veins? And have you always wanted to visit the Scandinavian kingdom full of fjords and mountains?
Well, this might be your chance.
O'Connor Casting Company has announced that there's an open casting call next month at the Mall of America for the award-winning reality TV show "Alt for Norge" --- also known as "The Great Norway Adventure."
The show, which has twice won the equivalent of an Emmy in Norway, follows 12 Norwegian-Americans as they delve into Norwegian culture and compete in various challenges.
The show's winner receives $50,000 cash, and gets to meet Norwegian relatives they didn't know they had.
The casting call next month is for the show's sixth season. In the past five seasons, 13 Minnesotans have been featured, but none have won.
Casting producer Joan O'Connor said that last year's open call in Minnesota gave the show a third of its callback finalists, and three of them became cast members.
One of them was 65-year-old David Knudson. In a press release, he called the show experience "nothing short of breathtaking."
"Never in my life have I been treated to such an exhilarating, life changing, learning, challenging, and heartwarming voyage," he said.
The casting call will take place on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mall of America's Executive Center. That's located on level four.
