Officials: 2 Week Crackdown On Party Buses, Limos Underway
ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – If you're planning on using a party bus or limo over the next two weeks for any celebration, be prepared to see police.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation said Monday a two-week crackdown involving saturation patrols for buses, limos and other passenger-carrying vehicles is underway. Officials said the patrols will include traffic enforcement, driver and vehicle inspections, compliance reviews and educational outreach.
Areas of focus in the Twin Cities metro include downtown Minneapolis near Target Field and the Metrodome, the Mall of American in Bloomington and area casinos.
Buses and limos are especially popular during the summer months for bachelor and bachlorette parties, birthday parties and other special occasions.
The Minnesota State Patrol is assisting MnDOT in the statewide crackdown.
