Odor Closes Century Plaza In Downtown Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said the Century Plaza building in downtown Minneapolis had to be closed Friday after an unpleasant odor from the sewer system swept through the building.
The Hennepin County Century Plaza building is located at 330 S. 12th Street in downtown Minneapolis. Officials said it's the central location for residents to apply for social services, food stamps, health care coverage and other safety net services.
The building has been shut down until further notice due to the odor. Authorities said they are investigating the source, but have said it's been traced to the sewer system.
People still looking to apply for that assistance while the building is closed should do so at the Northwest Family Service Center at 7501 Brooklyn Boulevard in Brooklyn Center.
