October's Veteran Of The Month: Cortney Amundson
Cortney Amundson served in the US Air Force from as a non-destructive inspection journeyman 2003-2007. She served during Operation Enduring Freedom during her deployment to Uzbekistan 2004-2005.
She retired from the Air Force and attended Metropolitan State University receiving a bachelor's degree in psychology, and afterward attended Antioch University Seattle receiving a master's degree in psychology in 2011.
She then worked for the Wounded Warrior Project taking post-9/11 combat veterans on outdoor recreation trips, and is currently working for Mindful Restoration LLC taking veterans and others to do outdoor recreation incorporating mindfulness.
Cortney also is a Veteran Outreach Coordinator for EMDR HAP Veteran Resilience Project of MN offering EMDR therapy at no cost to veterans.
She and her partner have a 19-month-old daughter and lives in New Prague, MN.
