Obama Meets With Dayton, Talks Wis. Showdown
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Gov. Mark Dayton and other democratic governors visited the White House today to meet with President Barack Obama about ways to create jobs and boost the economy.
The topic of the Wisconsin Showdown came up.
Obama has urged the governors to seek compromise, but not the kind of confrontation with unions that Gov. Scott Walker in Wisconsin has created.
"Most of us see that as a distraction really from the most important work we can do which is creating jobs. All of us get things done," SOMEONE said. "We're about getting things done."
Dayton will go to the National Governors Association meeting this weekend in Washington. Sunday night, there will be a Governors Dinner at the White House.
