Obama Campaign Opens 2012 Office In Minn.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- President Barack Obama's re-election campaign now has a Minnesota outpost.
Obama's Organizing for America group planned a grand opening Monday on a Minneapolis office suite, the first it has opened in Minnesota for the 2012 campaign.
The Obama campaign has been building out staff in the state since the Democrat formally launched his second term bid in April. The group has held volunteer trainings and phone banks.
Obama carried Minnesota and its 10 electoral votes in the 2008 election. No Republican nominee has won Minnesota in a presidential election since Richard Nixon in 1972.
